The Windows were inserted colored glass, depicting saints and scenes from sacred history, legends, emblems and patterns. Glasses these kind of mosaic, made of carved according to the requirements of the pattern pieces, connected together by lead strips.

The “tower of Khalifa” (Burj Khalifa, Burj Khalifa ; previously – “Burj Dubai” (Burj Dubai), or “Dubai tower”) is the tallest skyscraper in the world . the height of 828 meters, 162 floors.
Dubai skyscraper-stalagmite has built up over 5 years. The construction of the skyscraper began in 2004 and was at a speed of 1-2 floors per week. The official opening of the tallest building on the planet, which was held on 4 January 2010, was watched by almost 2 billion people.

Burj Khalifa was named after the incumbent President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE; UAE) Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed al-Nahyan.
Dubai is known for its ambitious development projects (the archipelago of The World, the Palm, the beautiful ”sail” Burj al-Arab. “wave” – Jumeirah Beach Hotel. the Dubai fountain (the Dubai Fountain is located near Burj Khalifa), and many others…). I’m not an architect and don’t know many details, but in this article I will try to convey their impressions of Gothic architecture on the example of two cathedrals. It is with the Cathedral of St. Vitus and Stefan began my acquaintance with the Gothic.
Gothic replaced the classical (Roman) architecture. At first she was treated with disdain and where did the word Gothic (with Italian language Gotica translated as unusual or barbaric). But gradually this trend in architecture was gaining popularity. The oldest Gothic Church is the Notre Dame Cathedral (Notre Dame de Paris).
The main difference from Gothic classics is the use of the frame, where the entire structure is kept for special support, which, firstly, has ceased to be a part of the wall of the building, and secondly, are lighter than the massive columns of the Romanesque style. This design allowed us to increase the size of the building, especially in height. Continue reading
